had a great day at garron point, nothing big to report, plenty of fish caught. mixture of pollock and coalfish and one scorpion fish for the species count. me and the brother-in-law caught around a dozen each. sadly the largest was only 1 1/2lb. but it was great sport on light tackle and the float was going under every cast. bait was rag and squid. definately worth a crack, i'm sure there is every chance of hitting into a big one. :D

Mid way between Carnlough and Waterfoot.
There is a large set of white rocks in front of a car park which is beside a small row of cottages - one of which sells Dulse.

its very rough ground but if u don't mind losing some kit there is some good congers, wrasse and pollock on the bottom...well thats what i've found

i go with the float everytime mate. unless i was wanting conger or doggies. i've caught some really big pollock here on the float and on the spinner so less chance of losing tackle. big tip: make sure u bring some ragworm with u for bait, u'll slay them everytime. set ur sliding float 8-10 foot and don't overcast, found more success 10-15 foot out. hope this helps, i never fail here! tight lines.

garron point i love it one of the best places to fish light weather it be spinning or float fishing i my self float fish it all ways catch fish at it normally pollack. up to 4lb in the summer tho that is of the finger at low tide my mate got that that's to the left its covered at high tide. well this may sound odd to you guys but i think going by what i have read and found out on the web that there is a spot that at high tide is all white most of the time and i think that it holds bass but i could be wrong if you use floating and some shallow plugs might catch the odd one I'm going to give it a go some time any way. you can fish garron point on the bottom tho you might need to bring you long distance stuff with you a Penn 525 and a lead lift i have had some nice rock cod of there 1-2lb mark. as for spinning a set of feathers work good well i normally go for 3 different colors like ( red/yellow/green) or (blue/white/black) tho i have found that (red/white/yellow) work best they must be good Liverpool fans up there
