Report:Fished below the campsite at Doonaha on Friday night over the low tide 4 dogs and 2 strap conger all to rag and mackerel sand eel or straight macerate caught zilch
Saturday 11 of us fished Poulnasherry at he very end of the road 1 dog in 5 hours fishing over the bottom of the tide. then we fished Carrigaholt beach up to high water 5 flounder. 3 of us then fished below the campsite at darkness to low water 3 dog a rockling and a bullhuss 14" long
Sunday we all split up i went back to Poulnasherry for another 5 hours over low and the early flood blanked. Others went to Bridges of Ross 2 wrasse and a pouting others went to the wreck they blanked as well. Back to Carrigaholt for the start of the ebb 6 flounder 2 coalies and a rockling. Couldn't be bothered fishing the camp site down to low so got plastered.
Monday Back to Poulnasherry (Determined to get a ray) 7 of us blanked in another 5 hour stint. Was told how good Doughmore Strand had fished the day b4 so we all headed up there and fished the first 3 hours of the ebb.BLANK
The fishing over the whole weekend as you can see was disappointing but I'm not disappointed over 800 miles covered plenty of great advice from a few guys on the forum and a guy Mike in the Shannon club.(pass on my thanks to him Donagh or Neilus) but i know we just hit it wrong I'm back in July and I will conquer Poulnasherry)
Thank you and Goodnight.

Hi Codfather,
Fishing is poor all over the Estuary at the moment. I haven't heard a decent report from anyone. We fish the same place in poulnasharry and only one end of our pegs produced any fish in our last two competitions. In the last few years the lads pleasure fishing here had a heap of ray in the spring. I'm sure the water temperature is down on last year after the cold weather we've had for the last few months. I hope the milder weather and southerly winds bring a few fish in the next few weeks. July should be a definite improvement with the outside chance of a sting ray from poulnasharry.
Theres a few Mikes in the club but I'd guess it was Mike Kiely. I wouldn't know him that well as I've only seen seen him at this years comps. He wrote the the article on fishing the estuary a couple of years back in Irish Angler. Mentions about the wreck in there BTW. I've never fished it but thet've had conger to 30lbs in competitions and they say a 40lb isn't out of the question if it could be pulled out.
