Duration:10am till 2pm
Tide: Low after 10pm
Weather: Sunny with northerly breeze
Bait:Fish baits
Rigs:Mainly pulleys
Results:24cm dab.
Report: I was fishing the roughed part of glin so only used pulleys. Was trying with large baits on one rod in the hope of a lone big ray and mid range baits cast farther for doggies. I only had one definite bite that resulted in the dab to mackerel. The line went slack shortly after casting before this and a large bait looked like it had been hamered by whiting. I thought the water would of been silted but was only the usual merky. I would of fished that evening for darkeness for better fishing but the forecast the night before looked bleak but it would of been fine.

Duration: 5pm till 9:30pm
Tide: High at 9pm
Weather: Srong westerly breeze
Bait:Fish baits
Rigs:Mainly pulleys
Results: 2 doggy size huss
Report: Two huss caught one after the other but bites weren't seen probably due to the wind so were out there a while and I could of had new baits out for when the brief time the fishing was on. Huss were lethargic and easy to unhook a sign of the cold water.

Hi Gearoid,
It was carrig west. I lost a fair amount of gear. I don't normaly lose as much gear as I did but I did fish the main tide run and the swell would have contributed. I find squid very good for the rough ground venues probably because it freezes so well compare to mackerel. I think I'll try a catch smaller fish fresh to try for huss in future.
Good to hear theres ray in kilteery

Duration: before 9pm till 12:30am
Tide: High before 1am
Weather: Settled
Bait:Fish baits, Mainly Mackerel
Rigs: Running ledgers, pulleys and 3 hook boom rig
Results: 1 Conger into double figures.
Report: Not saying where as too many mainly non-national anglers cutting up congers but its a well know conger mark. We all had a few mini conger runs through the night with out hooking up. They were probably small straps that missed out due to 6/0 hooks. I caught the only conger which was the only sustained run off the rachet between the lot of us. We forgot to weigh it but it was probably in early double figures. Learnt an important lesson to check the drop net isn't tangled at the start of the night. Sean had a hell of a time getting the fish up due to a tangle in the drop net line. I also had a bass rod with a 3 hook boom rig, sand eel and size 2 hooks lobbed 50yards out which I had two cracking bites to. Both fish were only played for a few secounds before firstly the snood knot to boom broke under heavy pressure and then the next fish the rod locked up when I couldn't control them with the light bass rod and the tackle snagged up.
