Poulsallagh 19.06.21

Tue Jun 22, 2021 11:13 am

When: 19/06/2021
Where: Poulsallagh, Co. Clare
Who: Myself and a friend
Duration: 11:30-17:00
High Water: 12:30
Equipment: Light lure rod and a bass rod for feathers
Conditions: Fairly calm, warm, cloudy
My Result: 4 small & 2 decent size pollock, 1 small coalfish.

A lot of people on the rocks there today. Including some lad repeatedly casting feathers directly across my line :?
Fairly slow day but got busy in the end.
Happy with a 3lbs pollock on the light rod.
Took feather rod on the off chance of macks, but I could see from the others that none were about.
I tried for sandell a few times but none, were about. So mostly kept to the light lures.

Released all the small fish, bar one smallish coalie. The hook had turned upwards in it's mouth and damaged the eye. Figured it was better to dispatch.

My friend caught a 3lb pollock near the end of the session, I quickly swapped lure to a similar one and threw out in the same area.
While he was dispatching I landed another 3lb one.
