West coast bass!

Mon Apr 05, 2021 2:25 am

Who : myself and friend
When: Easter Sunday night
Tide : fished incoming tide from about 2 hours up from low to high water
Bait: fresh lug
Rigs: 3 hook flappers
Results : 7 bass between 2.5-4/5pound

Havnt put up a report here in a very long time so said I better contribute something , havnt been out much recently but decided this morning would give the flatties a go with the hope of a bass, dug some fresh lug and were set up with first baits in water by around half 7 , first few casts in daylight saw the baits return untouched. Hopes were starting to die but as soon as it got properly dark both our rods hopped over together and I landed a single bass and the friend landed a double , all around 3lb , we fished on for another few hours and had basically a fish a cast best of about 4/5lb until it died off as it approached high water. We also caught one small coalie but no flounder at all , a result we had not expected at all really so over the moon with how it went , a great night to be out . Hopefully things are looking up for the summer! ,

Don't you just hate it when a flattie session is ruined by bass!
