When: 24/09/2020
Where: Malahide Estuary & High Rock
Who: Myself
Duration: 11:30-13:00 then 16:30-20:00
Low Water: 11:24
High Water: 17:37
Equipment: 9ft spinning rod with 4000 reel. 11ft bass rod with 4000 reel.
Bait/Lures: Tacklehouse Feedshallow 128mm Bloodhead, Samson Subsurface Enticer. Lugworm & Mussel on a pulley rig.
Conditions: Overcast during the first session and then thunderstorms in the second session.
Result: Blank

Cycled out to Malahide to plug for bass at low tide this morning and the water was like a mirror! A few times I had ripples from fish behind my lure but no takes at all, I did see a few seatrout jumping though. Borrowed car for the second session and went to high rock Malahide with my bass rod and salted mussel & black lugworm for bait. When I arrived there was a serious surf running with a thunderstorm on the horizon, which gradually made it's way towards me bringing heavy rain... I tried lobbing the bait close in and then casting as far as I could but no matter where I put the bait it was coming back untouched.. While waiting for a bite I was plugging on my spinning rod and at one point I got distracted while casting and forgot to open the bail arm, smashed my new tacklehouse feedshallow off the rocks and it split in half  Expensive mistake I won't be making again

That is a really nicely presented bait, I'd nearly eat it myself
