Mornington

Postby kenf41 » Sun Aug 30, 2020 9:27 pm

Saw the fine evening so thought I just head down the road for an hour with the spinning rod. Hadn't been here since the lockdown and didn't catch anything during that time so didn't expect anything this evening. There was a few fishing and they hadn't anything and by the time I started they were packed up and gone. I thought it would be a good time with sunset and moonrise around 8 15. Sure enough 20 minutes later a fish hit my lure. It gave a very good fight and I was suprised it was a small bass
I gave it another 15 minutes and packed up myself. Nice pleasant 45 mins and a first bass from thereImage

Well done...nice fish

Funny... planning on heading up there tomorrow and was wondering if its weedy at the moment. Guess its fairly fishable so?

A cheapo from wish. Had a couple of expensive lures on for a while and just thought a colourful noisy popper was worth a try

Good stuff. I'd say you were happy with that result. Never really tried poppers. Had a chug bug that I used to try now and then but never got a touch on it so it never comes out with me any more!

Lovely fish pal. Great to see some bass being caught that far north on the east coast.. especially on lures!

Have been trying in Dublin recently with no joy.

Havn't been out with lures at all since march. Deadly way to catch though. Been using rag and have caught a good bit since I don't go that often. Going tonight and I may have just put the mockers on myself

Best of luck with it. Based in north Dublin myself so might take a spin up there one of the days and throw a few lures out.
