Went to the telegraph pole today to give it another chance after blanking here previously. First I tried using mackerel basher feathers for about an hour and wasn't catching anything so I switched to these tiny goldish green sabiki feathers and on the first cast I got a massive bite, it was a huge pollock and it kept diving and taking line, I fought this fish for a good 5 minutes and just as I was lifting it out of the water it dropped off my line

it must have been at least 4-5lb and would have been my biggest shore caught fish.. but I soldiered on through my pain, ended up catching 11 pollock in total but they were all too small to keep so they all went back, one or two were close to size but just not there so I ended up hitting beshoffs for some cod on the way home
I think I'm going to come back and try here for congers at night next time
