Portrane North Rocks 17.05.2020

Sun May 17, 2020 4:42 pm

When: 17/05/2020
Where: North end of Portrane Rocks at the small beach
Duration: 14:00-17:00
Low Water: 15:00
Equipment: 9ft spinning rod, 30lb braid, 50lb leader, 32g kilty lure.
Conditions: Flat calm water and overcast with slight westerly breeze.
Result: 2 tiny shrimp

Went out to try fish over low water out in Portrane over the rocks north of the martello tower. After wading out into a foot of water from the small beach in a pair of wellies I realized waders would have been a much better idea, could have gotten out a good bit further. I was casting a decent distance anyways, I slowed my retrieve a little bit too much on a couple of casts and managed to hook 2 tiny shrimp  Also got a good look at a big group of seals perched on the furthest rock out which was interesting to see! I'll definitely be back here this week at dawn with my waders, hopefully I'll finally catch a bass!

Ten out of ten for effort.! You're certainly putting in the hours, only a matter of time before you land!!
