Looks like somebody's been taking plenty of small bass at my favourite local mark Image

you should send the GPS and photos to the fisheries, it might prompt them to check it out from time to time. That's very disappointing.

Is there any signs off nets out there? Or can you not see anything. It's a shame that people are still tell bent on taking bass for the table.

Didnt notice any, bad thing is the seabass were totally fished out of this location about 15yrs ago, they started appearing again a couple of years ago.
Last thing we need now is this behaviour.

Did you contact IFI. be willing to meet with one of them and show them the exact spot. A one-to-one, face-to-face approach will show you are genuine about your report

Any chance that somebody like a fishmonger is disposing of the remains of farmed bass?

Doubt a poacher would be so stupid as to sit on site and fillet all those illegally caught fish

They know this stretch well and regularly check for sea trout licences and the like. Looks like they missed this guy.

No, I don't think so. Probably a foreign guy unaware of the law. The heads are gone, most irish people don't eat/use them, whereas on the continent they are most certainly eaten.
