Mackerel fishing dublin 2018

Anyone been out for macks around dublin yet? I know it's a little early yet.

I was talking to a trawler man recently and he said they were picking up the odd mackeral all winter,although this was deep water about 20miles behind rockabill ,I'd say they will turn up soon ,I'd try somewhere deep like dunlaoire

Dunlaoghaire is far from deep.
Species Target (1) Anything will be a Bonus.

Well it's conciderably deeper than any shore mark in north Dublin ,which explains why mackeral tend to be caught there and the bull wall about 2 weeks before they arrive further north .
