Wooden bridge Clontarf - Sat 12 May

Postby spandito » Sun May 13, 2018 11:47 pm

Went down to test a new multiplier reel I recently received as a gift. Started off right in the middle of the bridge facing Howth from sunset (21:45ish) to about midnight with HW passing by at 22:30
After an hour had 1 or 2 bites that I missed as the tide was running hard. After that I moved nearer to the wall at clontarf and managed to foul hook a very small eel. Bait was Mackerel tipped with squid as it was all I had left in the freezer!. Might give it another go in a few weeks with some crab and rag. First time using a multiplier and after a bit of testing in a field on Friday somehow managed to not get a single birds nest. Prob jinxed myself now but thoroughly enjoyed using it and can’t wait to try it out on the boat targeting some tope.
