Cork January fishin

Happy new year ladies and gents!
Looking to get the lines wet for the first time next week in Cork somewhere, was looking for reports for cod or anything really but not much up, could be a good thing or a bad thing!!

Has anyone fished the beaches around east Cork or Cork harbour? I think there was a competition last Wed near Garryvoe- how did it fish?

PM's welcome if somewhere is fishing alright at the moment!!
