Turbot...

After reading JohnWest's report catchin turbo, got a itch to catch one too. Freshly dug lug/maddies and one year old mackerel from my freezer and razor fish for sea bass if ever there is. Im still over the moon after catching my first sea bass here in Sligo. Armed with two Continental rods, one for distance and the other for close range. As the tide rising the fish start biting, i landed 4 turbo the biggest is 26 cm. Got a massive pull on a distance rod a positive sign of a bass bite but no hook up.
All in all im happy to be out again and tried my new set up.

Lovely fish and photo, pity I didn't know of this forum until i finished my Intermediate welding course in Sligo only a few weeks ago, would have been the job to have met up and got a fish, only caught conger there. Would love to get back up soon and try Strandhill beach for a Bass.

Thanks! I do a lot of lure fishing for wrasse and sea trout lately. I tried for bass but no luck yet. If ever you visit Sligo again give me a shout, i'll show you some good spot for wrasse and pollock.
