Managed to fit the rod in the car, along with the kitchen sink, on a recent holiday ewith the family. On day three of said family holiday i suggested that it was time for myself and the son to spend some quality time fishing. Got the nod, quick dash to a local beach to dig some bait and managed to get enough decent size lug for a couple hours on the beach.later that day i Packed car and we headed off to chosen spot. On arrival it was clear tgat tide was on the way in. After a quick trek to the mark and a few mins setting up the gear we had bait in the water. After an hour into session we had no bites. Plenty of sea trout jumping close to shore so i set up a spin rod for the lad. No joy, lots of sea weed. Noticed that the line on the bait rod had gone very slack....then bam, lovely rattle, fish on! A decent size bass! I was delighted. My son said "wow da,a big fish, makes a change from all those tiddlers You usually catch"....! Not sure of the length or weight but reckon about 5 or 6 pounds??? After a couple of photos the fish was returned to the water. No more bites or sessions for the rest of holidays. As for waterford, great place, lovely folk, lots to do and good time had all round.

Unreal well done. I can only dream of catching a bass, any Bass but one that size really would be a dream come true
