North Coast Bass - Got One!

It's been a long time coming! - maybe 3 years and maybe 20+ attempts - but I was graced today by a nice little schoolie bass of about 1lb from the north coast.
I worked most of the beach with a 11' spinning rod and a Tackle House Feed Shallow, wading knee-deep into the surf. The fish struck right in the suds in front of me, maybe 10 feet from me and 30 feet from the shore.
A small fish but nice to see. A feeling of joy to eventually see one on the end of my line, but moreso relief than anything I guess! lol.
Would have been that wee bit more satisfied if it had been 2 or 3lb - which is a common stamp of fish for this beach when they are eventually caught..
Some damage to the dorsal and adipose fins on the fish. But it swam of strongly, back into the suds!

A tope, a specimen flounder, a keep-able turbot from the shore and a BIGGER north coast bass!! lol

That really is some going, on a lure, north coast and this time of year

funny, i was speaking to a guy that fished that north coast 40 years ago, he said that they were rare then too! - at a time when fishing on our shores was generally more plentiful....
hard to get. need to put serious time in, or be damn lucky.

seems to be the general consensus chuck, and with game season approaching it only gets harder

Perseverance pays off a long wait and well worth it I would have given up
