Having recently been shown underwater footage of my local shore mark, where I saw a whole range of species swimming about, I decided on my days off over Xmas to focus on some LRF, a mini species hunt..
Armed with a baited sabiki rig and a little shrimp pot most days, all I really only managed was a lot of small dab, cod, coley and pollack, and not much else. But I also had a ss.sea scorpion, a shore rockling, a common dragonet, a 5 bearded rockling and a nice big shrimp (or prawn, not sure) amongst many types of crab.
Was hoping for a lot more species tbh and so was a little disappointed (I didn't even manage a pin whiting ) but it got the fresh air around me nonetheless. Mind you, I seemed to be catching a lot more numbers of fish than other anglers
