Whiterock Beach.

Postby jack01986 » Thu Nov 17, 2016 12:52 am

I thought with the "super moon' and the big tides that it would be worth giving white rock beach a go. High water was around 6:00pm and was just starting to come back in by the time I arrived. On previous occasions when I've fished here on a big tide there has been good fishing at low water but not this time. It took a couple of hours before things got going. Had some small whiting and flounder to start and the fish started to bite properly as the tide kept coming in. I missed one big rattle on the rod which I think was probably a coalie but who knows! Was getting fewer bites and considering calling it a night when I got a great bite and picked up the rod to feel something bouncing on the end. It turned out to be a nice flounder around 32cm. I was chuffed with that fish as it was my best flounder in a long time. There were a few more smaller flounder, rockling and a solitary codling. Not a bad evening and it wasn't as cold as I thought it would be.
