Duncannon Harbour 21/2/16

Sun Feb 21, 2016 9:29 pm

Who: Me
Where: Railings along Duncannon Harbour
Weather: Overcast with light drizzle
Time: 4:30PM -> 6:30PM
Tide: HW @ 4:46PM, fished slack and ebb
Tackle: 1 up one down size 2, 3 hook flapper 1/0 4oz grip lead
Bait: Black wraps and a wee bit of crab
Results: 4 coleys, 23cm-30cm

Popped down to Duncannon Harbour this evening to target flats before I go back to school ( ). Arrived while it was still bright and threw out a one up one down with wraps and got a coley of 23cm. Kept him as he was my first ever coley, nice looking fish in my opinion. As the tide started to ebb 3 more of the buggers took me bait and were all returned. Each one I caught was bigger than the other. It was a nice evening, quite mild for this time of the year and it wasn't that cold. I will definitely be returning to Duncannon in the future

Well done on getting out!

It did go quiet around 3 pm after the howling gale of the morning, but I decided to keep my day pass from the missus for another day!

I never fished Duncannon but the beach to the south has (had?) excellent lug and rag beds...

Probably not as good as they used to be.
