Decided to give the Down coast a wee throw yesterday ,just to get out of the house if anything

,baited the single flapper with rag tipped with mack ,cast out every distance possible not a bite

float fished rag at depths of two feet to eight feet in hope of a wrasse not a sniff ,in between this I spun jellies ,sand eels ,nowt ! Chucked out a dexter to see if there were any mackerel about again a blank ,getting desperate I even wobbled the small perch for a while !! No takers lol ,tried all this for about four hours then packed up

.not to be beaten I set the fly rod up and hit a few spots on the way home hopeing to tempt a sea trout or two ,I couldn't

so I called it a day . its the fourth blank in a row in that area, things are getting bad down there used to be guaranteed some pollack or a few decent wrasse even ,no more it seems wonder what went wrong? .think I'll try the Antrim coast next time .
