SE Bass - beginning July

As I enjoy reading the reports on here I thought I would contribute myself on
my recent outings.

After lots of trying for Bass around Dublin and near by areas with no reward over the past 3 years I decided to venture further south again in search of the elusive Silver.
After some investigation on Google earth and some shared knowledge from fellow anglers
I headed to the south east at the start if July for my first Bass session of the season and in search for my second ever Bass (1st caught late last season on the south coast!)
@ 05:00am from Dublin I set off.

Got to Mark which was full of weed, and colored water from heavy rain and Winds. Hard plastics were a nightmare to fish, so I switched to various soft plastics, weighted and un-weighted. 3 Hours in not a touch.
I switched to a White/Green Senko and said to myself I will give this
a go for 15 mins then hit the road! Second cast with senko Bang Bass on! Such an aggressive hit.

After a few minutes of a hard fight and preventing him darting to the rocks I landed a
Nice fat bass around the 5 to 6lb Mark, 66cm, Great Fight such a strong fish.
Her tail was quite scared, with what looked a recent flesh wound prob from the local
Seals! White/Green Senko done trick in real colored water, fished real slow!
Great to get my second Bass! Release to fight another day.

I have fished this Mark and surrounding area on several occasions since and have not had a sniff
of a fish. All morning fishing. Hope it picks up soon!

Anyone else finding the fishing difficult? Especially with this real bad summer we are getting.
Seems everytime I go out it is Gale force winds and Murky water. There does not seem to be too many bait fish around either. Very little bird activity on the water.
Are people finding night time more rewarding?
Not many reports around either it seems.

Is the weather having a negative affect on the fishing or is it there is just not may Bass to be caught?
No marks will be shared here, as I have respect for the people who have shared them with me. The second fish was caught from my own research on Goggle earth looking for reef like structures to fish.

Finding it tough round Dublin myself Colin but nothing new there! It's the lads who have been catching consistently over the years who can best shed light on this. The impression I get on forums etc is year on year decline. Hope that's not right.

Nice fish Colin, well done. Was out again myself today, and it was blowing a storm as usual. I must need my head examined :) very coloured water, lots of weed, and no fish. Had many trips like this recently around Dublin. Conditions have not been ideal, but there also seems to be a shortage of Bass.
