Ballyquinn / goats island 23/05/15

Sun May 24, 2015 9:16 pm

Time: 17.00 - 23.50
Tide: HW at 22.56
Bait: Crab and lug sandeel
people : just me

First time out in a month.... And its the first chance i got to use a multiplier i bought online (penn mag 525 ) older model , Note never used a multiplier before so it was a learning experience only encountered a small birds nest .

Started off at ballyquinn the sea was very calm (17.00 ) looking to catch some flat fish on incoming tide but not even a nibble decided to call it quits so i was not just another all nighter casualty to ballyquinn and left around 21.30 to goats island to fish off the island and wait for the tide to go out so i can get back off . My rod was hoping from first cast and got a total of 10 dog fish .

At least it was not a blank

Also anyone who fishes or knows the area between ballyquinn and ring co waterford i found a nice spot in between and have a question in relation to safety but would rather pm then disclose the information here

Jazus Steve you've done plenty of travelling to find a few fish.Ballyquinn is an excellent beach that can throw up plenty of species however it is somewhat overfished these days, but still a favourite spot of mine.

yup it was worth a cast or two but was too calm for my liking anyone know of areas close that either can catch ray / huss or even a conger or to rack up a different species :D
