Tue Apr 14, 2015 9:12 am

People:
Just myself.

Duration:
2 hours, an hour either side of high tide, from about 7pm to just before 9pm. Sunset was about 8pm.

Tide:
Quite a big high tide.

Weather:
clear, mostly calm with a small breeze. fantastic surf.

Bait:
illex lead head jelly worms and shad.

Rigs:
na.

Results:
No catches, no bites, nothing.

Report:
Im relatively new to bass fishing and as the weather was good and i could catch the tide, i headed out after work, first sea fishing session this year.
Chose white rock because i dont really know many other places nearby that have what look like good conditions for bass (rocky weedy shore that gets covered by a decent amount of surf at high tide, right beside a shingle beach which again gets a lot of surf.

Although the surf and weather seemed to be favourable, i had no luck. i probably should have moved about more, but i limited myself by choosing whiterock. Perhaps trying some rag or crab into the surf may have been more successful, may try that next time.

There was a bit of weed, but nothing like what was there and on Killiney beach last year.

Used the time to try and hone my skill at spotting feeding fish in the surf but didnt see anythign of note so i have work to do there also, or the fish just were not there, or both!

Nevermind, an evening out fishing, even with no fish is still an evening out fishing!

Fair play for giving it a go mate. It may be still a little early for bass in Dublin but we would never know unless people like yourself give it a go. Fair play
