People: my self +freind

Duration: 11.30 / 3.30

Tide: 2 hours after low to high

Weather: glorious but cold

Bait: razor+lug crab+lug

Rigs: 2 hook clipped

Results: two bass landed 1 lost

Report:

down to ring to dig lug while mate went to check tyres . he came back with ten crab and i got enough lug for the two of us
got down to the strand around 11am . hardly any surf rolling so didn't look very promising set up both rods 1 baited with razor+lug
the other crab+lug two short casts around 35yds then settled down al fished two rods bot with big baits crab and squid
after around 45 mins first classic bass bite on right rod struck into him and landed around 2.5 pound carefully unhooked then
returned .
re cast back out. then went to talk to al we were discussing the chances of catching bass with very little surf as this beach fishes better
with a good surf then als rod just bent right over into his first fish he played it up to the water line only to see it flip over and spit the
hook it looked a good fish we put it 6to 8 pounds. he re cast and we carried on chatting then a chap came to us to find out how
we were doing as he fishes the beach himself so as we were talking away i noticed the line on my left rod had gone very slack
so i went over to it and got hold of the line to see how slack it was i pulled back about 6ft of line so picked up the rod and wound
down then a quick strike and into my second fish to find a nice bass of 3.5lb again un hooked and returned hopefully to grow
on without getting swallowed up by a trawler. no more bites after that but a nice start to the new year.
typically the only time i forget to pick up my camera.
