People:myself dad
Duration:4-8
Tide:lw at 6
Weather:calm cold
Bait:fresh crab
Rigs:pulleys
Results:codling to 3 1/2 pounds 1 whiting and 2 poor cod
Report:was heading down to cork to pick up a new kayak do we couldnt muss the opportunity to give the cod a bash after the dissapointing trip 2 weeks ago .
After getting the new yak we headed towards monkstwon and picked up crab along the way , arrived at the wall around half 3 and set up on the grassy stretch where no one else was fishing , first cast produced a decent bite which felt like a very good fosh the whole way in until he dived and got caught up in the reef which was a pity ,2nd cast i had a codling of about a pound and a half ...... Brilliant start we thought but no sooner had we started catching than it just switched off all of a sudden
Fishing stayed quoet for about an hour and everyone else on the wall packed up , but once the tide started to come in a few decent fish made an apperance for the next 2 hours it was a fish a cast app fish ranging from 1.5-3.5lbs which gave a great ffight plenty of head shaking , fishing continued like this until we couldnt hold bottom amymore which was around 8:30,,
So to sum up the trip it was well worth the trip downwith some cracking fish ended up with 15 keepers ,couldnt have planned it better . Pity we dont get any cod up in galway

well be back
