Report:
arrived down on friday evening, settled into the b&b and went back over to the waterford side and ferrypoint. There was no one else there which i felt was surprising anyways i set up just off the point as you look out to sea, i could hold the bottom in this location with the 7lb grippers no problem, i imagined fishing into the channel may have been difficult to hold the bottom, anyways i had the the rods in the water for a half an hour when i caught my first codling, happy days for me as it was my first codling in a few years, i was getting bites on a fairly regular rate however i had to wait another hour or so before i caught the second fishy and it was like for the remainder of the night.
A fellow fisherman arrived 10pm set up right at the point fishing into the channel and was into fish on a fairly regular basis unlike me

, got talking and he was a nice guy from dungarvan aniways i fished on in my same location until 12 than tried the point when the other guy had left however the flow of water had increased considerably here after low tide, making it impossible for me to hold the boottom, i called it a night shortly after.
The next morning having an hour to spare before i headed home i chanced the beach at claycastle, the end furthest away from youghal town, near the overflow pipe, i had some lug with me and flicked out the rods and caught this lovely looking fella, i think its a turbot but am open to correction on that, first for me whatever it was, let him back to fight another day, as the weed was playing havoc with my lines i called it a day and headed home.
