One of the coldest nights I've fished in years, hands were so cold I couldn't seperate the rod sections when I finished! Lots of bites but quite hard to hit most of the time. Ended up with 5 dabs, 5 poor cod and a solitary skinny whiting. Hour either side of high water was best. Whiting season has been poor in the bay this year, in fact its been dismal.

Know what you mean about the whiting. Think it's been poor everywhere. In fact, I think the bigger ones (not by much) were about before Xmas. What's there now is barely big enough to take a size 4 hook.....
