Mullet and bass session, (Dublin) 27/07/14

Duration: Low to high tide

Tide:

Weather: Cold and wet

Bait:Bread and lug

Rigs: Cheap and easy

Results:No mullet, 6 flounder, 1 smut and a schoolie




Report: Headed out yesterday to try for some mullet and threw the beach gear in the car aswell...

We got there at low so dug some lug waiting for the tide. Once we had enough we headed to the mullet mark.

I don't know what it is about mullet fishing but it makes me nervous, sitting watching the bread and waiting for the take..
We tried for about 3 hours, had about 30 takes not no hookups. Maybe next week!!!

Headed to the bass mark and set up, straight off the bat we were getting bites, one of the lads brought in a 3 shot of flounder, then a small pup hound. About an hour into the session we had the first bass, about a pound in weight. Straight back it went,... We had a couple of flounder after that and then the rain just got to heavy...

We called it quits at 1am...

Did'nt take pics because they were all average sized.

i'll be trying for my first mullet this wednesday. going to try get one on the fly
what is a small pup flounder?
