Low Rocks Ballscadden, Howth, Sunday 28th March 2004, 12.00- 7pm Bait: Ragworm, Lugworm, Mussell, Mackeral, Squid

Split Rock was unfishable due to the level of the tide so a group of us headed for the low rocks. Some people were there fishing and had produced a nice flounder of 33cm. Tried using a sliding wishbone rig to tempt these big flatties but ended up with starfish most of the time :P
Whiting and Dab were the fish of the day, none being any decent size. Best baits were the worm baits tipped with small pieces of Mackerel but Mussell also took them. We decided to make it an extra long session due to our lengthened period of light. Ended up with five fish myself, three dab and two whiting. 25 fish were caught between us, "Jhon 65" catching the most with eight fish.

Was that a BBQ you had going?

I was fishing the high rocks to your right. Only playing around with feathers while my wife was shopping in the town. Needless to say, I didn't catch a thing.

Wondered how you were getting on down there, so thanks for posting!

Was a nice afternoon though, so I wasn't too disheartened with another blank.
