Killoughter 22/03/2014

Mon Mar 24, 2014 3:38 pm

People:Myself, Skelly and James

Duration:6pm -10pm

Tide:2 hours of the drop and 2 hours up

Weather:Breezy but dry

Bait:Frozen crab, Mak, Ragworm

Rigs:Pullies and flappers

Results: DOGFEST

Report: it's been a while since we last fished this mark, but we thought we might root out a few small codling and maybe a nice whiting or 2.
From the first cast it was Dogfish and that's how the session continued with singles and doubles coming in; nigh on every cast.

Skell had a few whiting (biggest 29cm) along with a with good haul of Dogs, myself and James eased off on the fishing once our Dogfish tally hit double figures. As the night grew colder Skelly called time up (I'd say his arms were heavy by that time with around 20 fish or so to his credit) and we headed for home.

Blustery auld night but enjoyable all the same.

Same happened to me three weeks ago. Double's and triples, no sooner had I cast out and it was hit. Even moved a few times with the same result. Ravenous sea monsters.

Lol the only way you'll miss the dogs is if you start lure fishing, and some how I can't see that happening lol
Good session all the same ;)

  nothing wrong with a doggie session man :D
at least they put a bend in the rod which is more than can be said for the 6 inch coalies and whiting we usually get plagued with :P
