not much to report but it was great to get out again, I haven't been well all winter, Im still not exactly right yet but on the mend. Ive been itching to cast a bait in the water for ages so couldn't take it any more and decided to head to the north coast.

At first we were going to head down to the south east coast but weather conditions wern't the best so decided to head to a well known shelterd beach mark on the north coast. this beach is very hit or miss but couldn't go anywere else with the weather conditions.
We started fishing about 5 o'clock, an hour before darkness. there was abit of a swell coming in but nothing to bad. I was hoping for a few flats or whiting but nothing was taking our baits. tried everything in the book, different cocktails and different hook sizes but sadly me and the bro blanked and Marty got a last minute doggie.

To be honest I wasn't that disappointed that I blanked, It just felt good to get out again, the craic was good and just to hear the waves crashing on the beach on a blustery feb night. It does the heart good. and cant wait to get out again. and hopefully with a few fish next time

Always good to get out hard luck with the blanks at least ye got 1 better luck next time;)

Ah sometimes fishing is not about catching fish, downtime for the mind and a bit of relaxation.

tell me about it Charlie just couldn't seem to get a bite never mind a fish. but been there before and it wont be my last blank. just have to swallow it and hope for a few fish the next time, but enjoyed every minute of it as always cheers

Your right there mate the fish will come eventually but I was well chilled and relaxed with a few beer of course, and enjoyed every minute of it. cheers
