Report:
Haven't been out in 3 months so was fairly anxious to get back into it. Myself and Johnny decided we wanted a nice handy session and didn't want to travel miles so we headed for South County Dublin. He picked me up from work at half five and after a pit stop we were set up and fishing for Seven. Conditions were perfect, nice and mild with a light south westerly, not much surf but not flat calm either and no weed. Perfect for easing yourself back into it after a 3 month lay off!
Johnny was first on the board with a whiting of about 27cm, I started getting a couple on a 3 hook flapper that but all small, 17-22cm mostly on Lug tipped with Mack.
I changed over to a 3 hook clipped down and started using bigger baits and had a treble straight away, biggest being 28. Johnny stepped it up then and had one 30cm. Not bad whiting fishing for the east coast so we were happy.
I got a couple of small codling in close, but i mean small, 10-12cm. After the tide filled it was doubles and trebles every cast, Biggest whiting was a 32 that I got along with a 29 and a 28 on the same trace.
No flats or larger codling but with the amount of whiting around im sure there was some there that just didnt have a chance to get the bait before the whiting.
Great night to be out and while they weren't monster whiting they were better than the 15cm ones i normally catch.

At least you got out and got a few small fish, better than the dreaded blank and you got some fresh air into your lungs.

Good stuff Grumpy, try a 2 or 3 hook flapper with size 2 or four hooks. Get it out as far as you can.
