Thu Dec 19, 2013 5:57 pm

People:Me and a Mate

Duration:6pm-10pm

Tide:HW Midnight

Weather:Nice but cold

Bait:Rag + Mackerel

Rigs:1 Hook flapper 1/0

Results:4 Rockling biggest 40cm, 3 colies 10-15cm

Report:Me and my mate Johnny decided to head out for a spot of fishing we picked wrasse rock as the wind was blowing 50-60mph south-southeast and we might get some shelter and there is always the chance of the odd good fish, We got to the mark and it was fine not a bit of wind so we set up just simple rigs weight and a hook about 2ft above it I use 30lb line straight throw weight and hook are 20lb line first couple of casts brought nothing but lost weights and hooks, after the first hour it picked up Johnny had a rockling I had a small colie so happy enough we fished on getting small fish I had a good size rockling 16inches and lost another fish about the same size.

Rock fishing is always the same losing tackle but a night's fishing makes up for it and plans are in place for another trip out soon and a night making leads and tying rigs is on the cards tonight thats after a feed of rockling and chips with some mushy peas.

nice 3 beardy man!
it can be a snaggy old hole there at times. but well worth the tackle losses as it often throws up the odd decent fish.
at this time of year you can pick up the odd decent cod too. big lug baits all the way ;-)
