When fishing in east ferry u should excpect to wet a line , and a ball of lead to hit the seabed and if ur lucky some sea weed.
Its useless that place

+1
a boat definatly helps, had fine size thornie at the mouth once and bass are caught there occaisionally but usually fall to boat anglers...i had a pollock chase my sidewinder right into my sight and loose interest at the start of the summer..
i will catch something there from shore tho sometime!

East Ferry, isn't a total dead loss - here's a list of species I've had from there:- conger (s), ballan wrasse, corkwing wrasse, goldsinny wrasse, rockling (s), blenny, poor cod, pollack (s), coalfish (s), whiting, codling (s), tub gurnard, bass (s), thick lipped mullet (s), thornback ray, lsd (s), flounder (s), seatrout (s), mackeral (s), scad....and on lures I've had bass, ballan wrasse, pollack, coalfish, codling, tub gurnard, seatrout, and mackeral.
