Co. Dublin

People: myself and Jordan

Duration: 6pm - 9pm

Bait: Lug, Mackerel, Sandeel

Rigs: one up one down.

Results: Bass, Codling, Flounder, Dog Fish

Report:
Dug a load of big lug on Saturday to fish the evening tide on Sunday. got to the venue and there was a big surf running with plenty of weed washed up on the shore. I taught it was going to be a nighmare to fish. casted out with lug and sandeel on the first rod around 100 yards and started to set up the second rod. Jordan gave me a shout and said that the line on the rod was travelling down the beach. my first taught was that weed had gathered on the line and was pulling it down the beach so I took apart the second rod and was getting ready to move further up the beach were it was a bit more sheltered and not much weed. when everything was packed up I started to reel in the first rod and straight away could feel a fish pulling away. I got the fish into the surf which was crashing down at this stage and I could feel it pulling the fish back out to sea. I had to stop reeling until a wave was coming back into the shore then I reeled like mad and landed the first bass of around two pound. on the third cast I got another bass which was bigger probably close to three pound. at around eight Jordan was reeling in when he got stuck I took the rod off him to see if I could free the line and could feel a fish pulling on the other end. I gave a bit of slack line and left it for around 15 minutes. it can free and Jordan reeled in a cod of around 1.5lb. we also caught flounder and dog fish.

looking forward to dinner tonight baked bass with a side of battered cod.
