Report:
Hadn't been out in a couple of weeks so got the green card stamped and hit to west clare. Had been watching the forecast all week but obviously i had the eyes shut while i was reading it because what i thought was to be an ok day turned out to be fairly rough

. Hit to my lug mark first, pull up and looked down to the mark and it was literally like a badly managed garden with the amount of weed up on the mark

had to dig the weed before i could start getting the lug. Ploughed away for a whlie until i got enough of the lug. The plan was to fish a mark that i have not fished in about 6 months but when i saw the weed on the lug mark i knew mark 1 was out, so decided to hit another favorite mark albeit that i know things have been slow on the fishing front.
Things were very slow from the get go

As the tide started to push it brought in a fair amount of weed, it was still fishable though. The tide was coming through like an express train so it wasnt long before i was forceably shoved back up the beach. There had been another lad fishing for a while but after an hour or two he had packed up, not before we had a good old natter about our Limerick hurlers last week or rather, the lack of hurlers

I was going to pack up as well when all of a shot one of the rods double over, struck in, as i started to retrieve the fish ran in directly towards me, just before the shoreline it made a shot for freedom but after a quick tussle i landed the fish, a lovely plump bass that weighed in at just slightly over 5lbs, over the moon, so launched out the baits again, but once again it went quiet. After about another 1 hour i hooked into a couple of Doggies. Slow day but was delighted to get a few fish
