Report:

Me and the bro decided to hit the south for abit of a holiday. the drive down was all moterway to cork city. then over to the beara. we arrived at bantry got our berrings then headed to dromagolane house for some fresh bait, he give us some good info on what marks to fish so many thanks to him. reached r first mark we got three bearded rockling and 2 dogs then the weed drifted in with the tide so called an early night up the next morning drove to r next mark we notice that It was one of henry gilbey's marks were he caught huss so we thought it must be a great spot but sadly only fell to a couple of dogs think it was down to tide at this mark to be honest. we stoped off at a pool full of mullet tool the bread and light gear out, and as u know frustrating as hell the bro got a take but sadly it threw the hook. so close but sure that's mullet fishing. we moved on round close to dursey island with spinning gear got some decent Pollock with storm shads was great craic with light gear. we moved from there to a nice beach we I finally got my huss small but still a huss. so was pleased moved on up to Kerry found a place to dig lug. first time doing that as I normally buy mine from tackle shops but it was an experience enjoyed doing it got about 150 worms and then hit the beaches the bro got 4 bass and I got 2 on a couple of beaches we were at, the biggest 4 lb . I also caught a ray but wasn't sure of it if anybody could tell me wat type of ray it was. we caught flounder aswell biggest just off 2lb we hit a rock mark at the end of r trip and I got my first lure caught bass on a maria angel kiss mackerel. so was well pleased great we fight. the bro got a few mackerel.

all and all the fishing was excellent in some of the best landscape are beautiful country has to offer, the scenery was amazing . but I think next time we will hire a guide cause there was a lot of time wasted driving about looking for marks. but would do it all again tomorrow. now back to reality work work work.

heres some pics

Nice going there Fagan, like the ray and the huss in particular. I was down the Beara myself that week for a drive with Mrs West, got as far as Dursey but could only look and imagine due to a muscle injury.
