Report:
With strong winds forecast we knew that boat fishing was unlikely, so we hatched a plan for an all day fishathon. That meant hitting the road before 7am so that we could begin fishing our 1st mark by 10am, so as to catch the last of the ebb & beginning of the flood. After about an hour of chucking Slugs & Xlayers in the water, MM was bent into a nice fish that after a spirited fight turned out to be a new PB for him, a lovely silver lad of 5lbs 14oz. After a quick pic, he slid his fish back into the water and it swam away strong. We fished on for another bit, but before long we were pushed off this mark by the tide. We attempted to fish another couple of spots east of there, but we were scuppered by floating weed. We refuelled in McDonalds, and then headed to North Wexford to finish off the day catching smoothies. We fished the beach till about 11pm, and managed 5 proper sized smoothies 4-5lbs, and a load of pups. Got home at about midnight, well and truly knackered.
