Report:
Headed out for the whole day to try somewhere new . Arrived at the venue at around 1 and had the first cast at 1:30 there was white horses and the sea was very rough so not the best for ray ....... But it didt stop them from the 1st cast till the last only 4 times did we reel in the line to not have a fish this happen 3 times after missed bites and once when i lashed out a whole squid got a decent bite on it brought it in but the hook had been bit off

great day out and brilliant fishing sandeel was by far the best bait

thanks gfkelly1969 and freedom1719 for all your help will definately be back again

all fish were returned alive and well
Also tried for the first tope of the year tried a spot closer to home at low tide tonight but there was a lot of weed flowing through the channel and the big tides only allowed for a very short window of time

Dad has photos of the ray and il put them up tomorrow

also some of the ray had black heads /snouts which i have never seen

It's called dirty nose ray. Or black nose. I've been told. It's in there jeans / make up, . I think it's to do with the ground they grow up on. Camoflague . IMO .
