Report:
Headed down early to get some lug so we arrived on the flood with the full sun beaming down on us. After getting to half moon about 9 we setup and waited and it was slow going at the start. More people arrived and we all bunched up behind half moon for fear of the water comer the wall on the lower part of the pier ( which it did ).
It was coming close to full tide, around 10 and there was no sign of a fish until I walked up for a natter with the other lads and seen his rod rattling away. First hound landed, about a pound.
It was frantic after that, everyone landing fish except us that were sheltering from the wind behind half moon. So we decided to walk up the pier past all those that were catching. Not even 10 mins in the water and we were catching.
We had a young fella with us who is only starting sea angling and he shouted he was on so we all stood watching, but we seen this dark colour fish coming is and thought doggy till he lifted it out of the water and there it was, a kelp cod. It started to slow after that and we hung around till 2 am when we ran out of bait. The fish were still biting when we were leaving.
