Report:I have been meaning to fish Streedgha Point for a long time now as I have never fished it before. The younger brother is in the middle of exams so I decided to bring him out for a couple of hours to give him a break from the study. We arrived out, parked up and walked out towards the end of the point. As I said I have never fished this spot before and had thought that the rocks at the end of the point was supposed to be a good area. However after taking a look I thought better of it as I was worried about the water coming in behind us and leaving us stuck. We had a walk about and found a couple of promising spots on the left hand side of the point.
We were throwing out a variety of spinners and soft plastics in the hope of landing some big pollack. However there was noting happening in the first spot so had a walk down to another area. No pollack there either so a change of tactic to try for some wrasse. I was getting a few knocks but no hook ups and seen a decent fish swimming around but couldn't tempt him. On to spot number three and managed to pull out one small baleen. Blank beat and another species for the year. The bro had a few knock as well but didn't manage to hook up.
Good to be out and will be back to try there again. Hopefully the pollack some bigger wrasse will play ball next time.
