People:Me, son Jake, Skatter and Pepzi
Duration:6 hours
Tide: Out to in at 6 or so
Weather: Fekkin smashing
Bait:Sandeels, Mack and Lures
Rigs: Various
Results:Pollack to 3lb
Report: We headed off around one for a spin on the scooters up around Inishowen. Tried Tremone Bay off the rocks, nothing. Then off to a nearby pier which was booked considering the weather, nought being caught so on we went to a spot none of us had tried before. There was a guy there who had been fishing a couple of hours with no luck but had seen sea trout cruising about the bay. He packed up and we clambered around the rocks to the couple of accessible spots that were fishable. There were loads of sandeels in the water which was crystal clear, maybe too clear I was thinking. Skatter had a couple of follows by trout but no takers. The bait was getting no takers.

As the tide filled then the pollack seemed to get a bit braver, Skatter spotted a few just below him tailing his lure. I had a Powerbait Sandeel on which I`d just bought that day in The Tackle Shop in Burt, great shop, give it a go, so sneaked over to his spot and Bang, pollack hit it just under my nose. We all had a go on the Sandeel lures and all caught bar Pepzi, with junior Jake getting the biggest at 3lb. We had a massive shoal of mullet cruise by too.
All in all a good day out and I think we`ll be fishing off the beaten track a lot more in future
