Report:
friday evening landed in brandon, the weather was shitty enough,so settling in,saying hello and a few pints were the way of the evening.some spot, savage vast beaches everywhere...deadly
the next morning twas an early start casting out in fermoyle at quarter to eight with a strong cross-beach wind...we gave it a good little run for that time of the morning, and decided to head back toward the pier to where we were staying for a bite to eat and a bit of a wind down...the missus and another friend of ours were on there way at that stage,so we decided to wait for them.
the weather turned down again for a while saturday evening so i sat in by the stove cuddling padraigs pints while sailnfish fished the slip outside the door...soldier
sunday not a rod was touched,we all struck in to dingle over the conor pass for a bite to eat and a few sociables around the town, then back to brandon for more food and general acting the maggot.
still no fish...
monday morning i got up early and set up 3 rods on the slip in brandon.after about an hour this chunky lil fella took a few lug wrapped up in a squid jacket on a 2/o hook on the snood of an upside down pulley...pity bout the tape on the photo i kinda messed that up,id say if ya took ten mill off his length that'd be him.i must try'n get back down there again to check out some of the spots lads on here kindly let me in on...ya could fish it for weeks on end...

strange too having the north wind onshore for an east cork lad like meself...
a big thanx to eoghan, tipp john, monkeywrasse, spindlefist for the heads up and all the info and sailnfish for hauling me and me gear down to the kingdom, not much fishing done but still, happy days.
