Portsalon beach & Pier, Donegal, 12/05/13

People: fishmad, Micheal, Danny, Wayne, Michael McC and myself

Duration:7 hours

Tide:1 hour before low tide

Weather: rain and hail showers and the odd bit of sunshine

Bait:Fresh Mack, frozen black lug, Razor, Squid, frozen sand-eel & Mussels

Rigs:3 hook flappers, 2 up 1 down,

Results: 11 Flounder

Report: We fished on the knockalla side of the beach, 10 rods in total. first cast Danny had a flounder followed by fishmad and then Michael. I soon followed With a brace of flounder (27 & 32) :D This was all in the first hour or so then it switched off for 1.5hours then myself and mick got a flounder at the same time (pic attached). So to summarize fishmad had steady fishing and had 5 flounder in total, Michael had 2 flounder, Danny only had the one flounder, i had 3 flounder and 2 of the anglers blanked. Weather conditions were not great again with heavy rain and hail but at least we had fish to show for it. We then moved to portsalon pier in the village and fished over the wall for about 2 hours, not even a bite, Thankfully there were liquid refreshment's near by :wink:

The pier is good for conger alright!!..
I must hit that side of the beach some evening, I've been at the golf club side but to no avail but that was last year and the red tide was about then!..
