Mon Apr 22, 2013 4:34 pm

People: Myself

Duration: 3Hrs & 4Hrs

Tide: Filling

Weather: Good light easterly

Bait: Spinner & Mackerel

Rigs: Two hook flappers

Results: Pollock & Turbot

Report:

April 3rd

Haven’t had a lot to report the past few months apart from four blanks in row  from the beaches so I grabbed the spinning rod & the headed for a rocks, but after two hours & not a bite I was beginning to think a fifth bank was on the cards  but luckily a wee Pollock took the spinner & saved the day 8) stayed on for another hour but not a bite. The rock fishing is very slow this year just hope it improves over the coming weeks.

April 11th

I tried a local beach as there’s was a nice surf running & not a surfer in sight which was great for a change cast out one rod at distance & the other in close both baited with small Mack strips but yet again the baits were coming back untouched & after three hours I just had enough & started reeling in the line to head for home but to my surprise a lovely little blank saving Turbot appeared on the bottom hook of the distance rod happy days 8) Thinking I was in for a great session I decided to stay on for another hour but nothing else showed up but was just happy to have caught something.

A few pictures I took of a wee Sole we found out after Razor fish my first one to see around here he was buried in the sand at low tide he looked like a bird had pecked him & also a dead Mullet what ever happened to him!!

brilliant pics Fisherking. stunning wee turbot and a class pic of the sole, great find 8)
slim pickings all round our shores at the moment. think the whole system is at least a month behind itself after the cold easterlies... onwards and upwards!

and that mullet? do ya think the skinners got him!? :| :?: :)

Good to beat the blank, bad on the beaches, not good on the rocks, starting to run out of options! Nice pics but that's a big sole, here's a wee sole! ( from Rosnowlagh last year). Glad to see you're not adding that mullet to your species list.
