Report:
Had intended on fishing a West Clare Beach mark but figured it would be unfishable due to high winds forecast so decided to have another bash at a ray to see if they had arrived yet. Decided on stopping off at Castle Point to chance our arm at a stray mackeral to boost our bait supplies. 40 mins later we had stiff arms and backs and nothing to show for our endeavors...... Blank number one
Got to our ray mark to find we had missed the LW that we needed to fish it but gave it a bash anyway. 2.5hrs later we had one definite bite and nothing else........Blank number two
Decided to move to Carrigaholt pier as we had loads of bait left and figured that it would be a nice easy sheltered fish away from the increasing winds. We figured that we would have a good chance of a ray or conger or at the very least some doggies to beat the blank. Just about every bait came back untouched, even the crabs were not interested. Eventually just as the light was fading i had a wee doggie take a lug and mack cocktail. I have never been so happy to see a doggie in my life

Packed up shortly afterwards and headed on the long journey home.
Not sure why the fishing was so slow....?

The water quality was good at our ray mark with it usually fishing well this time of year. We had good quality bait and the conditions were decent so quite disappointed at the distinct lack of fish. Is it the month long of easterly winds that have kept the fish away?
Anyway, nice to be out as always. Wont be long till we see a few fish (i think?)
