People:me dad
Duration:8-11
Tide:hw at 9:48
Weather:south easterly strong
Bait:mackerel
Rigs:pulleys
Results:rockling , huss ,ray , first ever conger( very small )
Report:
Hadnt been out in a while and with a strong southeasterly blowing wasnt too optimistic but said wed give it a lash and see ....
We chose a pier mark that we had never fished but had heard of a few lads getting some nice fish of it.
First cast i lobbed out my pulley with a decent mack bait on a 2/0 hook and the second rod with a 2 hook clipped down rig with the same bait didnt take long to get the first bite

let it develop and struck but sadly no connection ....
Second cast got another bite and got a big rockling this continued on for the night with 2 small huss my first ever conger which was tiny and plenty more big rockling and a small thornie. Its the best night fishing weve hat since february gr8 to see the fish coming back and il have photos up tommorow

Not need to play it down mate. You caught fish, plenty of them too. I'm dead jealous. My girlfriend is from Galway and she begged me to come stay with her this weekend. I wish i did now.
I spent 4 hours in Dublin fishing on Saturday and this was all i got for my effort.

Nice session there. Well done! That conger looks like more a silver eel. But not sure about your mark. If it was in an estuary or near one then it maybe a silver eel. But I could be wrong.

ah young conor, thats why most of our gorse fire happens,,they say they were bush fires started by the heat of the sunn etc ,,but realistically they were started deliberately for a reason,,when you burn it,,it comes and grows back 20 times better
