People: me fein

Duration: 17.30 - 20.30

Tide: high at 6pm

Weather: bright clear skies and in the lee of the easterly

Bait: lug, mac, sandeel

Rigs: 3 hook flappers, pulleys, 2 hook clipped down

Results: 0

Report: wanted to head out but knew the easterly generally kills it
decided to try down off the rocks if there were some shoals of whitefish about id have a bit of sport
figured the beaches would be empty and also didnt want to travel so far

what a place these small cliffs are - what a view of the islands
no rubbish anywhere - all blown away no doubt
no drunken mob tossing tinsel
had the place to myself

was lobbing one onto the next ledge and one out past it - it was noticeble i did not see any sea birds around all the time

got snagged a few times - you get rusty when youve been away as to where the rocks and ledges start and finish

the sky turned red as the sun went down

it had given me a bit of colour

amazing colours in the night sky reds/purples/pink and the silouettes of the islands showing as the haze came and went
lettermullen and garumna across the way showing and disappearing -really looking like islans also

what a beautiful place

didnt mind the blank at all
but there was no life at all

maybe the fish are getting out of it already with all the talk of these cages

i was just imagining how there would be 5 "islands" to look at if the plans go ahead

how can this happen at such a beautiful location???

anyway thats a discussion for another thread

tight lines all

that wind ! will it ever stop :?: its getting stupid at this stage :| though saying that its a godsend on the east coast normally ,its that wind chill it will sap the heat out of the water and on the beaches thats enough to keep most fish away  back to wex with ya boy you need the wind blowing in your teeth to catch fish

well, I agree with your zero on results but for all the other things considered you most certainly deserve 10 points out of 10 for your report 8)

Hard luck on the blank Brian. Sounds like a beautiful spot. Let's hope it remains so.

Hard luck with the fishing results but as you say there's something magical about the location, echoing what others are saying too. It looks like finally some better weather is on the horizon with temps increasing as the week goes on. Forecasts for across the bay at the weekend look fine. Things will improve from here on in.
