Report:had a look at the sea at lunch time and it had calmed down a little bit ,enough to allow a few casts without getting washed off the harbour 8) gave dave a text to let him know it should be fishable on the evening tide.
Set up at 7.30 in conditions that had gone from good to flat calm :x still plenty of colour in the water so it looked ok ,dave arrived at about 8 and to be honest i was already thinking of moving ,at 10.30 and with the icy wind starting to pick up and still not a tap on any of the 4 rods we had all but given in !
On reeling in my in close rod i noticed a small silver appendage on my middle hook blank saved with a little one eyed whiting that more than likely swam into my hook by accident  started to pack up and so did eyes, brought in my "distance" rod only to find a flounder with two snoods stuffed down his mush :? well that was it off home proud as punch with my double off bray harbour  eyes reilly promised me he will go to his therapist today as he left the harbour a broken man :( making me promise not to let neil know !dont worry dave your secrets safe!!

I was going to write a great report about all those mid March Codling we caught in sub zero conditions down in the Harbour last night but unfortunately it would have had to begin with "Once upon a time,,,,," and I would have had to change my name to Hans Christian Anderson  Seriously though,,,,,,well done on managing to land that unfortunate freak of nature,,,sort of a Cyclops/Whiting hybrid,,,who had managed to survive long enough with a single eye and a poor sense of direction to reach the East Coast Codling average size of just over 13 centimetres  . Despite not getting a nibble or even a good impersonation of a bite by a passing crab,,,,I was glad to get out and pass a few pleasant hours indulging in my favourite pastime,,,,,even better the first BLANK of 2013 is out of the way and I can now concentrate on targeting decent fish  I think Neil had the the last laugh last night

PS Nice flounder
