Tide:
hw@10am
Weather:
cold 1c NNE 8/12
Bait:
Smith cherry blood
Rigs:
Results:
1 Seatrout. Around 26/28 cms, guessing around 1lb
Report:
Had a free pass for fishing today. First couple of casts, I made contact with the bottom. Thought it was a fish on. However, minutes later, just at the tide began to change direction, bang fish on. Great fight of it as it was foul hooked. One treble near gills and the other was embedded on its flank. My drag wasn't set correctly (again!), after a couple quick adjustments, he was still on. In was torn between over playing him and bullying him in, after a bit of both, quick photo (to follow), he went back very strongly. I had to pack it in after an hour or so. Fingers were frozen solid and found it very difficult to cast. Some lures were sent splashing right in front of me, some fell on the sand behind me as the rod swished forward. Some went directly vertical.
I am such a great hubby, that I'm out for the LW also, and there is fat fillet steak in the fridge.
